My Dear Friend, How I Miss Thee

It's hard to conceive that this kind of tragedy could ever happen to a simple 18 year old. It's hard to conceive that an even younger 17 year old should have to bear through this kind of pain. It's hard to conceive that one person can have such an impact on hundreds, even some that hardly had the pleasure to get to know him. But that's the gift Breck gave: happiness, cheer, and the mold that kept this family of friends together. He was our Brick.

I'll always remember him for the ball of sunshine he always was. He never allowed his own pain, if any, to seep out upon others. He didn't want to be a burden. Modest, embarrassed by the mere thought of being in the spotlight. Like a brother he was to me. Always smothering me in bear hugs, making me feel important, special, loved. I remember when we first met, I thought he was one of the kindest, goofiest guys I had ever met. Ends up, he was, very much so.

Breck had goals. He had plans for the future. Aspirations plenty. He wanted to help those in need. A Saint. And although he was sadly and suddenly taken from us so soon, he will still guide us from his heavenly thrown.

They say the good die young. That saying has never been truer than today. The good do die Young. Breck Young.

Rest In Peace my dear friend. Never stop smiling.
Forever missing you, Forever loving you,

Lauren
